God - Our Focus

I was sharing with a group of leaders on Sat (4th Jul) who will be bringing their people for the Gateway camp that I am helping in.

The topic that I was to cover is about leadership. I was sharing with them that the focus of a leader is NOT his/her ministry but God. God should ALWAYS be our focus. As I was sharing on this point, these statements came out of my mouth that I have not thought about. The statements were 'Our ministry will cease eventually. Our career will end one day. Our friends will leave us for various reasons. Our children will move out one day. Our health will fail us and eventually we will be confined to our bed before we cross over to the other side of Heaven. If our focus is not on HIM, what will we do when our ministry ceased? What will we do when our career ceased? What will we do when our children leave us? What will we do when our friends leave us? What will we do when our spouse leave us through death? What will we do when our health leave us and we are confined to our bed waiting for our time to cross over to the other side of Heaven?' None of the thing on this side of the earth is eternal. Only God is eternal. And if our focus in this life is not on Him, how foolish are we? If our focus is not on Him, our lives are but a empty struggle even if we are involved in the so-called ministry.

Dear one, what is your focus today? If everything is taken from you today, would you still be loving and praising Him, or would you be lost like one that have not known Him at all?
